Website Design
In the closing months of 2021, artist Linnea Spransy reached out for help with a comprehensive redesign of her portfolio website.
The challenge was to find a way to locate all of her work, past and present, on a beautifully designed website that challenged the chronological nature of typical portfolios and allowed for the incorporation of enriched didactic material to support the artworks.
A key question was one of scale, and helping website viewers understand the real-world size and context of these works, while maintaining an appreciation for the level of detail and precision involved in their creation.
A period of research helped to form a library of dos-and-don’ts that ultimately informed the final website. A number of wireframes were mocked up in development to decide forms of navigation and ways to help viewers into the works through both mobile and desktop browsers.
